The multiplier ideal sheaf \(I(\varphi)\) of a plurisubharmonic function \(\varphi\) is the sheaf of germs of holomorphic functions \(f\) such that \(|f|e^{-\varphi}\) is locally in \(L^2\). In 2013, the authors proved \textit{J.-P. Demailly}'s [in: School on vanishing theorems and effective results in algebraic geometry. Lecture notes of the school held in Trieste, Italy, April 25--May 12, 2000. Trieste: The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics. 1--148 (2001; Zbl 1102.14300); Analytic methods in algebraic geometry. Somerville, MA: International Press; Beijing: Higher Education Press (2012; Zbl 1271.14001)] strong openness conjecture stating that \[ I(\varphi)=\bigcup_{\epsilon>0} I((1+\epsilon)\varphi). \] In this paper, the authors show that this implies a matrix version of the strong openness proposed by Ohsawa. Furthermore, the authors' effective bounds in the strong openness conjecture are used to prove a twisted version of the conjecture. Finally, it is shown that the authors' optimal \(L^2\) extension theorem implies Berndtsson's result on positivity of vector bundles associated to holomorphic fibrations over the unit disk.
