The authors consider the modified Korteweg-de Vries equation \(u_t+u_{xxx}-6u^2u_x=0\) (the, so-called, defocusing case) with periodic boundary conditions. Using an infinite-dimensional Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser theorem and a partial Birkhoff normal form, the existence of a Cantor family of small amplitude is shown and quasi-periodic solutions are constructed.
