Recent investigations by \textit{R. Bacher} and \textit{P. de la Harpe} [``Conjugacy growth series of some infinitely generated groups'', \url{arXiv:1603.07943}] indicate that the coefficients of a series related to the finitary alternating group seem to satisfy certain congruence relations reminiscent of Ramanujan's congruences for the partition function \(p(n)\). In this paper, the authors prove the existence of congruence relations modulo arbitrary powers of \(5\) and \(7\) between the finitary symmetric group and the finitary alternating group.
