The authors deal with two relevant invariants of Harish-Chandra modules, which are the associated cycle and the characteristic cycle. They give their results in terms of clans, which parametrize the \(K\)-orbits in the flag variety, a subset of which parametrizes the highest weight Harish-Chandra modules. After recalling some well-known generalities on the concepts involved in this topic and reviewing the clan notation, the authors determine the clans for the highest weight Harish-Chandra modules, express the \(T_{\alpha, \beta}\) operators in terms of clans and also determine the Harish-Chandra cells. Finally, they compute all characteristic cycles for the family of those highest weight Harish-Chandra modules for \(S_p(2n, \mathbb{R})\) having regular integral infinitesimal character. Although the paper is independent of it, they note that they use the ATLAS software as an excellent tool for computing examples.
