The author gives a sufficient condition under which a divisor \(\hat X\) in a bounded convex domain of finite type \(D\) in \(\mathbb C^n\) is the zero set of a function \(f\in \mathcal{H}^p(D)\), where \(\mathcal{H}^p(D)\) is the Hardy space with \(p>0\). More precisely, the main result of the paper is the following: Theorem 1.3. Let \(D\) be a \(\mathcal{C}^\infty\)-smooth convex domain of finite type, \(\hat X\) a divisor in \(D\), \(\theta_{\hat X} \) the \((1, 1)\)-current of Lelong associated with \(\hat X\). Then, if \(d \theta_{\hat X}\) is a Carleson current, there exist \(p > 0\) and \(f\in \mathcal{H}^p(D)\) such that \(\hat X\) is the zero set of \(f \). In order to prove Theorem 1.3, the author solves the \(\bar\partial \)-equation to find a real-valued function \(u\) such that \(i\partial\bar \partial u=\theta_{\hat X}\). Then, since \(D\) is convex, there exists a function \(f\) such that \(u=\log |f|\) and \(\hat X\) is the zero set of \(f\). The proof is based on some properties of McNeal's polydiscs and of the Bergman metric on convex domains of finite type. This result generalizes a result of Varopoulos on zero sets of \(\mathcal{H}^p\)-functions in strictly convex domains of \(\mathbb C^n\).
