The authors study a class of presemifields \(B(p,m,s,l,t)\) of order \(p^{2m}\), \(p\) an odd prime, \(m\ge3\), and some more parameters. This class contains the commutative Budaghyan-Helleseth semifields and in case \(l=0\) -- up to isotopy -- the Knuth semifields. After showing the conditions on the parameters that make \(B(p,m,s,l,t)\) into a presemifield, the authors count the different instances with \(p,m,s,l\) fixed. The next section is devoted to characterize isotopies within the class of presemifields under consideration. In this context, the restricted isotopy group \(G_{1}\) is defined. The C-family is a subclass defined by specializing some parameters of the \(B(p,m,s,l,t)\). The authors manage to determine all orbits and their size of the action of \(G_{1}\) on the C-family. One consequence is that there is exactly one isotopy class in the C-family, which are isotopic to a commutative semifield, given a certain condition on the parameters. Finally the results are applied to the case \(p=3\).
