Extended Riemannian geometry. I: Local double field theory (Q2413543)

The authors present a mathematical framework containing the general relativity and local double field theory as special cases. The framework, called the extended Riemann geometry, is based on pre-NQ-manifolds, a generalization of the symplectic NQ-manifolds. The first part of the paper contains reviews of the local generalized geometry, local double field theory and NQ-manifolds. In the second part, the authors present the notions of pre-NQ-manifold, extended diffeomorphism, extended tensor, extended tensor density, extended metric and action. The third part contains some examples, and a presentation of the double field theory as extended Riemann geometry. This new mathematical approach clarifies the role of different constructions in double field theory, and represent a step toward some global and invariant descriptions.
