The authors investigate a general minimal time problem with a convex constant dynamics having a lower semicontinuous extended real-valued target function defined on a Banach space, that extends previous work from the literature for the special case of an indicator function of a closed set as the target function. A Moreau-type infimal convolution connected to this problem is investigated, properties of the Fréchet and proximal subdifferentials for the infimum time function, respectively, being delivered, in particular in the case when this infimum is attained. Examples to show the necessity of all the hypotheses of the main results are provided, too. The investigations in this paper are completed with those presented in Parts II and III of this paper [the authors, Set-Valued Var. Anal. 25, No. 3, 517--542 (2017; Zbl 1393.49010); SIAM J. Optim. 28, No. 1, 30--44 (2018; Zbl 1381.49012)], where similar results regarding the limiting subdifferential and the minimal time projection set are provided.
