The authors present some new fixed point results in Banach algebras that are not based on the measure of noncompactness, but on the degree of nondensifiability. An an application, the existence of a solution is proved for the following quadratic integral equation \[ x(t)=q(t)+\Big[f(t,x(t))+\int_0^{p_1(t)}K_1(t,s,x(s))ds\Big]\int_0^{p_2(t)}K_2(t,s,x(s))ds,\quad t\in [0,T], \] where \(q: [0,T]\to\mathbb{R}\), \(f:[0,T]\times\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\), \(p_i:[0,T]\to [0,T]\) and \(K_i:[0,T]^2\times\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\), \(i=1,2\), are continuous functions.
