The paper is a study of countable compactness in products of topological groups. The main result states that, for any cardinal $\kappa\leq\omega_1$ (which can be finite), there exists a ZFC example of a countably compact topological group $G$ such that $G^\mu$ is countably compact for any cardinal $\mu<\kappa$ but $G^\kappa$ is not countably compact.
