For a set $\mathcal{E} \subset B(X,Y)$ of bounded linear operators let $[\mathcal{E}x]$ be the norm closure of $\{Ex: E\in \mathcal{E}\}$ and $\mathrm{ref}(\mathcal{E}) = \{T\in B(X,Y): Tx \in [\mathcal{E}x]$ for all $x\in X\}$. Further, let $\mathrm{ref}_b(\mathcal{E}) = \bigcup_{r>0} \mathrm{ref}\{E\in \mathcal{E}: \|E\|\le r\}$. $\mathcal{E}$ is called boundedly reflexive if $\mathrm{ref}_b(\mathcal{E})=\mathcal{E}$. \par The paper studies bounded reflexivity of kernels of elementary operators of length~$2$; i.e., of operators of the form \[ \Phi: T \mapsto ATC - BTD. \] One of the corollaries says thet the kernel of $T\mapsto AT-TD$ is boundedly reflexive. Further, it is shown that $\mathrm{ref}_b(\mathcal{T}) = \mathcal{M}$, with $\mathcal{T}$ the set of all $m\times n$ Toeplitz matrices and $\mathcal{M}$ the set of all $m\times n$ matrices. The same is true for the Hankel matrices. \par Finally, the author gives equivalent conditions for the kernel of $\Phi$ as above to be boundedly reflexive in the finite dimensional case in terms of the matrix pencils $A+\lambda B$, resp.\ $C+\lambda D$.
