The authors consider an algebra \(\mathbb{A}\) as the space \(\mathbb{R}^2\) endowed with a structure of associative, commutative algebra with unit, denoted by \(e\). Three parametric families of non-isomorphic algebras are considered, in particular the algebra of the complex numbers \(\mathbb{C}\) appears. A vector field \(F : \Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^2 \longrightarrow \mathbb{R}^2\) is \(\mathbb{A}\)-algebrizable on an open set \(\Omega\), if \(F\) is differentiable in the sense of Lorch with respect to \(\mathbb{A}\) on \(\Omega\) (see [\textit{E. R. Lorch,} Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 54, 414--425 (1943; Zbl 0060.27202)]). Roughly speaking the main result is as follows. Every \(\mathbb{A}\)-algebrizable vector field \(F\), non-singular on an open domain, can be rectified to the trivial vector field \(e\). Whence the (real) integral curves of \(F\) can be recognized as unitary geodesics, under a suitable pull-back Riemannian metric. Several interesting examples are presented. The results extend previous work for meromorphic vector fields on Riemann surfaces, the case \(\mathbb{A}= \mathbb{C}\), in [\textit{J. Muciño-Raymundo}, Math. Ann. 322, No. 2, 229--265 (2002; Zbl 1047.37032)].
