In any sequence of bounded stationary Yang-Mills connections one may chose a subsequence converging to a singular connection such that its energy measure differs from the limit one on rectifiable defect measure [\textit{G. Tian}, Ann. Math. (2) 151, No. 1, 193--268 (2000; Zbl 0957.58013)]. This measure is the Hausdorff one multiplied with some density function. The main result of the authors claims that this density function can be computed explicitly without additional assumptions. The energy quantization of the defect measure was proved in [\textit{T. Rivière}, Commun. Anal. Geom. 10, No. 4, 683--708 (2002; Zbl 1018.58006)] under the assumption of a uniform \(L^1\) Hessian bound on the curvatures of connections in the sequence. The second result of the authors is to show this assumption holds automatically. In the course of proof the authors provided an effective version of the energy identity and offered the generalization of the Coulomb gauge with effective control over singular regions. This can be used in analyzing higher-dimensional annular regions.
