Let \(n\in\mathbb{N}\), let \(D\subset \mathbb{P}^n(\mathbb{C})\) be a generic divisor with degree \(d\geq 15(5n+1)n^n\), and let \(f:\mathbb{C}\to \mathbb{P}^n(\mathbb{C})\) be an entire holomorphic curve. Let \(T_f(r)\) denote the Cartan characteristic function and \(N_f^{[1]}(r,D)\) the truncated counting function. In the paper under review it is shown that if \(f\) is algebraically nondegenerate, then for every real positive constant \(\delta\), \[ T_f(r)\leq N_f^{[1]}(r,D) + O(\log T_f(r)) + \delta \log r \] for all \(r\geq 0\) outside a set of finite Lebesgue measure.
