Let \(\mathcal{X}\) be a space curve in \(\mathbb{P}^{3}(k)\), where \(k\) is an algebraically closed field. Extending the notion of Galois points for plane curves, Yoshihara introduced in [\textit{H. Yoshihara}, Algebra Colloq. 13, No. 3, 455--469 (2006; Zbl 1095.14030)] the idea of Galois lines for space curves: a line \(\ell\) is called a Galois line for \(\mathcal{X}\) if \(k(\mathcal{X})/\pi_{\ell}^{\ast}(\mathbb{P}^{1}(k))\) is a Galois function field extension, where \[ \pi_{\ell}:\mathcal{X}\dashrightarrow \mathbb{P}^{1}(k) \] is the restriction to \(\mathcal{X}\) of the projection with center \(\ell\). In this work, \(\mathcal{X}\) is assumed to be the Giulietti-Korchmáros curve, which is the first example of a maximal curve not covered by the corresponding Hermitian curve; see [\textit{M. Giulietti} and \textit{G. Korchmáros}, Math. Ann. 343, No. 1, 229--245 (2009; Zbl 1160.14016)]. Using information on the automorphism group of \(\mathcal{X}\) and on the orders of hyperplanes, the authors present the distribution of all Galois lines for \(\mathcal{X}\). As a result, they also describe the Galois points for a plane model of \(\mathcal{X}\).
