Let \(A\) and \(k\) be positive integers. The authors prove that if \(d\) is a positive integer such that the product of any two distinct elements of the set \(\{k,A^2k + 2A, (A +1)^2k + 2(A + 1), d\}\) increased by \(1\) is a perfect square, then \[ d = (4A^4 +8A^3 + 4A^2)k^3 + (16A^3 + 24A^2 + 8A)k^2+(20A^2 + 20A +4)k + (8A +4) \] for \(A\geq 52330\) and any \(k\). This result extends a previous theorem of the authors [Acta Math. Hung. 124, No. 1--2, 99--113 (2009; Zbl 1199.11074)].
