Asymptotic speed of wave propagation for a discrete reaction-diffusion equation (Q2431958)

This article deals with the asymptotic speed of wave propagation for a discrete reaction-diffusion system. Equations of this kind occur in population biology and material science. The authors find the minimal wave speed \(c_*\) from the characteristic equation and prove that \(c_*\) coincides with the asymptotic speed of wave propagation. It is also shown that solutions possess the isotropic property if the initial value has the isotropic property. Finally, the existence of the initial value problem for the discrete reaction-diffusion equation is dicussed.
