The fermionic representation of affine orthogonal Lie algebras were studied, independently, by \textit{I. B. Frenkel} [J. Funct. Anal. 44, 259--327 (1981; Zbl 0479.17003)], and Kac [\textit{V. G. Kac} and \textit{D. H. Peterson} [Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 78, 3308--3312 (1981; Zbl 0469.22016)]. The fermionic and bosonic realizations for the classical affine Lie algebras were developed by \textit{A. J. Feingold} and \textit{I. B. Frenkel} [Adv. Math. 56, 117--172 (1985; Zbl 0601.17012)]. After other contributions on this topic, a more general fermionic and bosonic construction was obtained by \textit{M. Lau} [Adv. Math. 194, No. 2, 225--245 (2005; Zbl 1154.17300)]. In this paper, the authors continue this research by studying the fermionic and bosonic representations for a class of \(BC\)-graded Lie algebras coordinatized by skew Laurent polynomial rings. This generalizes the fermionic and bosonic constructions for the affine Kac-Moody algebras of type \(A_N^{(2)}.\) To do this, the authors construct a class of generating functions consisting of fermions or bosons and show that the component of generating functions together with the identity operator represent an algebra of operators acting on the exterior or symmetric algebras and they also study the unitarizability of the fermionic representations.
