The paper addresses a general system of quasi-linear hyperbolic equations in the multidimensional space. The objective is to produce a rigorous justifications of the results for a reflection of a multi-wave pulse from an obstacle, obtained in the approximation of the nonlinear geometric optics, which is valid in the limit of a very small carrier wavelength. Previously, such a proof was made available in the free space, but not for the reflection from obstacles. Unlike the case of continuous waves, the analysis of the problem for pulses is facilitated by the absence of resonances. However, a complicating factor emerges due to nonlinearity-induced interactions between different wave components of the pulse, even if the interactions are not resonant. The proofs presented in the paper produce a rigorous estimate for the rate of the convergence of the solution to the pulse-reflection problem to the geometric-optics limit.
