The author proves that three notions of partial ampleness coincide for big divisors on \(\mathbb{Q}\)-factorial Fano type varieties and more generally Mori dream spaces. This gives a partial answer to a question raised by \textit{B. Totaro} [J. Eur. Math. Soc. (JEMS) 15, No. 3, 731--754 (2013; Zbl 1277.14007)]. The main results are Theorem 1.1 and 1.3. Theorem 1.1. Let \((X, B)\) be a \(\mathbb{Q}\)-factorial projective klt pair such that \(K+B\) is big. Then for each integer \(k\) such that \(0\leq k< \)dim\(X\), the following are equivalent: (1) \(K+B\) is numerically \(k\)-ample. (2) \(K+B\) is cohomologically \(k\)-ample. (3) \(K+B\) is asymptotically \(k\)-ample. Theorem 1.3. Let \((X, B)\) be a \(\mathbb{Q}\)-factorial projective klt pair such that \(K+B\) is big. Suppose that \(f: X \dashrightarrow Y\) is a log minimal model of \((X, B)\) obtained by running the MMP on \((X, B)\). If \(K+B\) is numerically (resp. cohomologically, asymptotically) \(k\)-ample, then so is \(K_Y+B_Y\), where \(B_Y= f_*B\). Theorem 1.3 is proved by studying the MMP invariant property of partially ample adjoint divisors. Theorem 1.1 is an application of Theorem 1.3.
