In this article the authors study a model describing a compressible flow of nematic crystal. The corresponding equations are the compressible barotropic Navier-Stokes system coupled to a parabolic equation for the average of the orientation field of the crystal. They prove global existence of a weak solution in \(2\) or \(3\) dimensions for arbitrarily large initial energy.
