This paper deals with the characterization of the class of linear transformations for which the symmetric cone linear complementarity problem (SCLCP) has always a nonempty and bounded solution set in terms of larger classes. The authors introduce a new class of linear transformations called \(F\), and, within this new class, the class of \(Q _{b }\)-transformations in terms of larger classes, such as \(Q\) and \(R_0\) is characterized. Further conditions are provided to ensure that Lyapunov, quadratic, Stein, and relaxation linear transformations belong to this class. Finally, the authors extend the notion of García's transformations to the SCLCP setting which is used to establish coercive and noncoercive existence results for SCLCPs.
