The authors study dynamic problems connected with the interaction of a rigid ball and a viscoelastic plane originating during both its falling on the plane and its motion along the plane, that is a Kelvin-Voigt medium and produces dry friction. In the first problem the differential equations governing the impact process are deduced and for the plane its restitution coefficient is determined as the function of the velocity of the falling ball. Properties of this function are studied and its asymptotics for large and small ball velocities are analytically constructed. The solution of this problem allows the authors to compare the obtained theoretical dependencies with the experimental data and to determine the dimensionless parameters characterizing the different materials of the deformable plane. Other problems arise in the study of the ball motion along the plane, where in each infinitesimal area three types of the contact spot forces occur: 1) the elastic force proportional to the plane normal deformation, 2) a viscous force proportional to the velocity of the plane normal deformation and 3) the dry friction force described by the Antonov-Coulomb law. After the introduction of the variables for the study of ball motions without loss of contact with the plane a detailed analysis of various variants of these motions is given composing the basic contents of the article.
