Let \(X\) be a topological space and \(Y\) be a Banach space. A set-valued map is said to be usco (resp.\ cusco) if it is upper semicontinuous and nonempty compact-valued (resp.\ compact- and convex-valued). An usco (resp.\ cusco) map \(F: X \to Y\) is said to be minimal if for every usco (resp.\ cusco) map \(G : X \to Y\) with \(G(x) \subset F(x)\), \(x \in X\), we have \(G=F\). In [Rocky Mt. J. Math. 39, No. 2, 545--562 (2009; Zbl 1178.54004)] (resp.\ [New characterizations of minimal cusco maps, Rocky Mt.\ J.\ Math., to appear, resp. {\url arXiv:1207.1587}]), the authors characterized minimal usco (resp.\ minimal cusco) maps by means of quasicontinuous subcontinuous functions. In this paper, by introducing the concept of *-quasicontinuity, the authors give characterizations of set-valued maps which are both minimal usco and minimal cusco. Let \(\text{MU}(X,Y)\) (resp.\ \(\text{MC}(X,Y)\)) denote the set of minimal usco maps (resp.\ minimal cusco maps) from \(X\) to \(Y\). The authors also prove that there is a bijection \(\varphi :\text{MU}(X,Y) \to \text{MC}(X,Y)\) and study the continuity of \(\varphi\) under the topologies of pointwise convergence, uniform convergence on compacta, uniform convergence and the Vietoris topology.
