The class of \((\kappa, \mu)\)-structures was introduced by \textit{D. E. Blair} et al. [Isr. J. Math. 91, No. 1--3, 189--214 (1995; Zbl 0837.53038)], and are nowadays an important topic in contact Riemannian geometry. A generalization where \(\kappa\) and \(\mu\) are not constant functions was proposed by \textit{T. Koufogiorgos} and \textit{C. Tsichlias} [J. Geom. 78, No. 1--2, 83--91 (2003; Zbl 1058.53039)], but for dimension \(> 3\), \(\kappa\) and \(\mu\) are necessarily constant, so this generalization only has sense for dimension 3. Another generalization was given by \textit{T. Koufigiorgos} and \textit{C. Tsichlias} [Tokyo J. Math. 31, No. 1, 39--57 (2008; Zbl 1158.53020)], considering \((\kappa, \mu, \nu)\)-manifolds but again for dimension \(> 3\) these are just \((\kappa, \mu)\)-contact metric manifolds, and then only three-dimension provides new insights. The aim of the paper under review is just to discuss this case.
