Consider the eigenvalue problem \[ u''(x)+\lambda u(x)= 0,\quad u(0)= 0,\quad u'(0)-d\lambda u(1)= 0,\tag{\(*\)} \] where \(d\) is a positive parameter. Let \(x_i\), \(i= 0,1,\dots\), be the roots of the equation \(\sin x+ x\cos x= 0\) on \((0,+\infty)\). In case \(d\neq (x_i\sin x_i)^{-1}\), problem \((*)\) has the eigenfunctions \(u_n(x)= \sqrt{2}\sin\sqrt{\lambda_n}x\), where the eigenvalues \(\lambda_n\) are the roots of the equation \(d\sqrt{\lambda}\sin\sqrt{\lambda}= 1\), \(\text{Re}\sqrt{\lambda}> 0\), \(n= 0,1,\dots\). In that case the eigenfunctions \(u_1(x),u_2(x),\dots\) form a basis in \(L_p(0,1)\), \(p> 1\). In case \(d= (x_*\sin x_*)^{-1}\), where \(x_*\) is one of the positive roots of \(\sin x+ x\cos x=0\), the eigenfunctions \(u_0(x),u_1(x),u_2(x),\dots\) form a basis in \(L_p(0,1)\), \(p> 1\).
