Let \(Y_1 \subset Y_2 \subset \cdots \) be a nested sequence of linear subspaces of a Banach Space \(X\), such that the closure of the union of the \(Y_i\) is equal \(X\). Let \(d_1 > d_2 > \cdots \) converge to zero. It is known that if each \(Y_i\) is finite dimensional or if \(X\) is a Hilbert Space, than there is an \(x \in X\) such that the distance from \(x\) to \(Y_i\) is equal \(d_i\). But it is an open problem to identify in general which spaces admit the existence of such an \(x\). This work proves the existence of such an \(x\) for a few new and interesting cases. These include, for example, if the \(d_i\) decrease rapidly.
