Let \(W(2n-1,q)\), \(n\geq2\), \(q\neq2\), be the polar space of all totally isotropic subspaces of a symplectic polarity of PG\((2n-1,q)\) and let \(DW(2n-1,q)\) be the dual polar space of \(W(2n-1,q)\). Let \(H\) be a hyperplane of \(DW(2n-1,q)\) without ovoidal quads. The author proves that if \(q\) is odd, then \(H\) is of subspace type. If \(q\geq4\) is even, then \(H\) is either of subspace type or arises from the spin-embedding of \(DW(2n-1,q)\).
