As a part of the program to classify separable nuclear \(C^{*}\)-algebras initiated by \textit{G.\,A.\thinspace Elliot} [J.~Reine Angew.\ Math.\ 443, 179--219 (1993; Zbl 0809.46067); Proc.\ ICM '94, Vol.\,2, 922--932 (1995; Zbl 0946.46050)], the author gives a classification theorem for unital separable nuclear \(C^{*}\)-algebras with tracial rank no more than one, which reads as follows. Let \(A\) and \(B\) be two unital separable nuclear simple \(C^{*}\)-algebras with \(TR(A)\leq 1\), \(TR(B)\leq 1\) and satisfying the UCT (Universal Coefficient Theorem). Then \(A \cong B\) if and only is they have the same Elliot invariant. To establish this classification result, for each Elliot invariant satisfying some abstract conditions described by \textit{J.\,Villadsen} [\(K\)-Theory 15, No.\,1, 1--12 (1998; Zbl 0916.19003)] (see also Theorem 10.1 from this paper), a concrete \(AH\)-algebra (with a special form) with no dimension growth realizing the given Elliot invariant is presented. Then, the author shows that a separable simple nuclear \(C^{*}\)-algebra \(A\) with \(TR(A)\leq 1\) has an Elliot invariant which coincides with the Elliot invariant of one of the aforementioned concrete \(AH\)-algebras, and proves that, if \(A\) satisfies the Approximate Universal Coefficient Theorem, then it is in fact isomorphic to the said concrete \(AH\)-algebra.
