It is shown that for granular binary mixtures at low density, the Navier-Stokes (NS) transport coefficients are not affected by the presence of gravity. Firstly the Chapman-Enskog method is modified to deal with inelastic binary mixtures and then the Boltzman equation is solved by using a series in powers of the spatial gradients around the local homogeneous cooling state distribution. Then one derives expressions for the NS transport coefficients which appear as the solutions of a set of coupled linear integral equations which are solved by combining the Maxwellian form of the distribution with a Sonine polynomial expansion. Follow successively comparison with other theories, comparison with Monte-Carlo simulation, and a discussion.
