Prompted by the above-mentioned paper by \textit{J. A. Heras} [Found. Phys. Lett. 19, No. 6, 579--590 (2006; Zbl 1118.78003)] the authors consider a charge moving along the \(x\)-axis. There is transfer of energy along the axis, whereas the Poynting vector \(\mathbb{S}\) of the retarded field vanishes on the \(x\)-axis. However, it is well known that \(\mathbb{S}\) is not necessarily the energy flux density. Thus, no contradiction is established and hence there is no support for the authors' claim of instantaneous propagation.
