An optimal control problem of a coupled nonlinear parabolic population system (Q2468784)

The paper is devoted to an optimal control problem for a coupled nonlinear parabolic population system. The system models a cooperative system of \(N\) populations. Existence and uniqueness of the positive solution for the system is shown by the method of upper and lower solutions. The cost-benefit functional representing the difference between revenue and cost is defined. The problem of minimization of the functional is formulated. The existence of the optimal control is proved and the characterization of the optimal control is established. Namely, the structure of the optimal control is identified.
