The authors consider an economic production lot size model for imperfect items in which the production rate is finite and demand rate is stochastic (continuous) under uncertain budget and shortage constraints. The percentage of defective items is stochastic and the nature of uncertainty is stochastic and/or fuzzy. The stochastic constraints have been represented by chance constraints and fuzzy constraints in the form of possibility/necessity constraints introduced by \textit{B. Liu} and \textit{K. Iwamura} [Fuzzy sets and Syst., 100, 229--233 (1998; Zbl 0948.90156)]. This non-linear programming problem is converted into a deterministic problem by using 'here and now approach', fuzzy relations and generalized reduced gradient method and numerically illustrated.
