Summary: For analyzing impartial games in the misère rule, \textit{Y. Yamasaki} [J. Math. Soc. Japan 32, 461--475 (1980; Zbl 0434.90108)] defined flatness of games, while \textit{J. H. Conway} [On Numbers and Games, Academic Press, London (1976; Zbl 0334.00004)] defined tameness. We prove that these two concepts are equivalent.
