The purpose of this paper is to study iteration processes related to some classes of variational inequalities. The main novelty consists in the fact that the standard Hilbert framework has been replaced by the more general one of real uniformly smooth Banach spaces with modulus of smoothness of power type \(q>1\) which admit weakly sequentially continuous duality maps. This case includes the \(l_p\) spaces, for \(1<p<\infty\). The proofs combine fixed point arguments with basic tools in the theory of monotone operators on Banach spaces.
