The authors consider the inverse spectral problem associated with the Sturm-Liouville problem \[ (-p\varphi')'+q\varphi =\lambda y\varphi \] where \(p,q,y\) are bounded and \(p,\; y\) are positive. The main condition on the spectrum is to be continuous with a finite number of gaps, i.e. \(\Sigma =\left[ \lambda _{0},\;\lambda _{1}\right] \cup \left[ \lambda _{2},\;\lambda _{3}\right] \cup \dots \cup \;[\lambda _{g},\;\infty )\) and the Lyaponouv exponent \(\beta (\lambda) =0\) for a.a \(\lambda \in \Sigma.\) Here \(\beta (\lambda )=\lim_{t\rightarrow \infty }\frac{1}{t}\ln \left| \Phi _{a}(t)\right|,\) where \(\Phi \) is the fundamental matrix extracted from the one-dimensional version of the above problem. Using tools of classical algebraic geometry, the authors could describe the possible stationary ergodic triples \((p,q,y)\) which solve the inverse problem.
