The differential equation \[ [p(t)x'(t)]'+f(t,x_{t},p(t)x'(t))=0,\quad t>0 \tag{1} \] with the initial condition \[ x_0=\Phi,\quad \lim_{t\rightarrow 0+}p(t)x'(t)=L,\quad \Phi\in C([-\tau,0],R) \tag{2} \] is considered. Here, \(p(t)\) is a positive continuous function satisfying the condition \[ \int_{0+}p(t)\,dt<\infty, \] \(L\) is a given number. For the problem (1), (2) existence (existence and uniqueness) theorems of global solutions are proved. The general results for the differential equation \[ [p(t)x'(t)]'+g(t,x(t-T(t)),\dots,x(t-T_{m}(t)),p(t)x'(t))=0 \] are concretized.
