This paper establishes some algebraic criteria for determining the delay-independent stability of the class of neutral differential systems \[ \dot x(t)-\sum_{k=1}^N B_k \dot x(t-k\tau)=A_0 x(t)+\sum_{k=1}^N A_k x(t-k\tau) \] and presents a method for determining the maximal delay bound guaranteeing stability if the systems are not delay-independent stable. Few numerical examples are also given.
