Automorphisms of a strongly regular graph (SRG) \(\Gamma\) with \(\lambda=3\) and \(\mu=1\) are studied. Specifically, automorphisms \(g\) of prime order and their sets \(\Omega\) of fixed vertices are investigated. It is shown that the valence of \(\Gamma\) equals to \(4u^2\) for a positive integer \(u\), and quite detailed information on \(\Omega\) is derived. As an application, it is shown that an SRG with parameters \((3905,64,3,1)\) is not vertex-transitive.
