Let \(E\) be a measurable subset of \({\mathbb R}^m\) and let \[ \overline D(E):=\limsup_{l(S)\to\infty}\;\frac{m(S\cap E)}{m(S)}>0, \] where \(S\) ranges over all cubes in \({\mathbb R}^m\) and \(l(S)\) denotes the length of a side of \(S\). The aim of the present paper is to solve a classical problem in geometric Ramsey theory by using ergodic theoretical tools. In particular the author managed to show that for \(t\) large enough it is possible to find an isometric copy of \(tV\) arbitrarily close to \(E\), where \(V=\{0,v_1,\dots,V_k)\subset {\mathbb R}^m\) and moreover to give a generalization of the so called theorem of Furstenberg, Katznelson and Weiss showing a similar property for \(m=k=2\).
