Permanental ideals of Hankel matrices (Q2479803)

The paper presents a thorough study of Gröbner bases of the ideal \(P_2(M)\) of \(2\times 2\) permanents of a generic \(m\times n\) Hankel matrix with respect to the lexicographic ordering. In all cases the Gröbner bases are generated by certain monomials and permanents. The bases are not in all cases reduced as claimed in the paper. For example, for \(m=5,n=2\) there are permanents in the list that are not tail reduced. In the second part of the paper a primary decomposition of \(P_2(M)\) is computed. In most cases there are two 1-dimensional minimal components and a 0-dimensional embedded component.
