The author proves for smooth, origin-symmetric star bodies \(K\) and \(L\) in \({\mathbb R}^n\) and \(1\leq m\leq k <n\) that if \(\|\cdot\|_K^{-m}\) and \(\|\cdot\| _L^{-n+k}- \|\cdot\|_K^{-n+k}\) are positive definite distributions on \({\mathbb R}^n\), then \(\widetilde W_j(K) \leq \widetilde W_j(L)\) for \(0\leq j=k-d\,m\), \(d, j\in {\mathbb N}\). Here \(\widetilde W_j\) is the \(j\)th dual quermassintegral. The necessity of the assumptions is also discussed. For the volume, \(\widetilde W_0\), the result is due to \textit{A. Koldobsky} [Geom. Funct. Anal. 10, 1507--1526 (2000; Zbl 0974.52002)], which, in turn, is a generalization of \textit{E. Lutwak}'s result [Adv. Math. 71, 232--261 (1988; Zbl 0657.52002)] on intersection bodies and the Busemann-Petty problem. \textit{B. Rubin} and \textit{G. Zhang} [J. Funct. Anal. 213, 473--501 (2004; Zbl 1056.52004)] obtained related results for generalizations of the Busemann-Petty problem and dual quermassintegrals.
