\(D_n\)-normal semigroups of transformations. (Q2481335)

Given a semigroup \(S\) of transformations of \(\{1,2,\dots,n\}\), let \(G_S\) denote the set of all permutations \(h\) such that \(h^{-1}fh\in S\) for all \(f\in S\). In the paper under review the authors use certain semigroups of orientation-preserving transformations to construct many examples of semigroups \(S\) for which \(G_S\) is isomorphic to the dihedral group \(D_n\). Some of these examples have the additional property that \(S\) is maximal (with respect to inclusion) in the set of all semigroups for which \(G_S\cong D_n\). Additionally, the authors describe automorphisms of the semigroups they construct.
