In this paper the authors study the intrinsic effect of gapless fermionic excitations on the interaction between vortices in the breached-pairing state. One of the main results established in this paper in the framework of a spin-polarized Fermi gas asserts that, for sufficiently high polarization, the effective interaction between vortices is attractive at short distances and could therefore bring about some new effects, such as the competition between this attractive interaction and the kinetic energy cost. The calculation of the effective vortex interaction potential accompanied by the discussion of its physical relevance concludes the present paper.
