The authors study the nonlinear stability and asymptotic stability of implicit Euler method for stiff Volterra functional differential equations in Banach spaces. They first review the Volterra functional differential equations (VFDE) in Banach spaces, then they analyze the stability and asymptotic stability of the implicit Euler method applied to initial value problems of nonlinear stiff VFDEs in Banach spaces. Finally they apply their results to delay differential equations and obtain uniform results.
