    Let \({\mathcal Z}\) be a Hausdorff topological vector space, \(C \subset {\mathcal Z}\) a closed convex cone such that \(C \neq {\mathcal Z}\) and \(\text{int\,}C \neq \emptyset\), and \(K\) a nonempty subset of a topological vector space \(X\). Denote by \({\mathcal L}(X, {\mathcal Z})\) the family of all continuous linear mappings from \(X\) into \({\mathcal Z}\). Under appropriate continuity conditions on a mapping \(T: K \to 2^{{\mathcal L}(X, {\mathcal Z})}\), the author establishes the unique solvability of the variational inequality problem: find \(({\hat x}, {\hat y}) \in K \times {\mathcal L}(X, {\mathcal Z})\) such that \({\hat y} \in T({\hat x})\) and \(\langle {\hat y}, u-{\hat x}\rangle \in (-\text{ {int C}})^c\), where \((-\text{int\,} C)^c\) is the complement of \(-\text{int}\,C\) in \({\mathcal Z}\).
