The author investigates a numerical method for the solution of Nekrasov's nonlinear integral equation \[ \Theta(x) = -\frac{1}{2\pi}\int\limits^{\pi}_{-\pi}\left(\log\left(4\sin^2 \frac{\xi-x}{2}\right)\right)\frac{\frac{1}{3}\mu\sin\Theta(\xi)} {1+\mu \int\limits^{\xi}_0 \sin\Theta(\eta)d\eta}\;d\xi, \] where \(\Theta(x)\) is the unknown function. This equation is a mathematical model for two-dimensional, steady, periodic, symmetric and progressive waves on the surface of water of infinite depth. The approximate solution is looked for in the form of trigonometrical polynomials. It is found with the Newton method. The proof of convergence of the offered numerical method is based on Schauder's fixed point theorem.
