The paper studies two aerodynamically excited pendula, which are linearly coupled. The system is modeled by two coupled Van-der-Pol equations. Using the normal form theory and averaging methods, the authors derive conditions for the existence and stability of synchronized motions depending on coupling strength and frequency detuning. In addition, the analytical solution for the amplitudes in the synchronized regime is found.
