A nonlinear problem of pendulum type for \(p\)-Laplacian equation \(-\Delta _{p}u+g(u)=f(x)\) in \(\Omega \) with nonlinear periodic type boundary conditions \(u| _{\partial \Omega }=c\) and \(\int_{\partial \Omega }\left| \nabla u\right| ^{p-2}\frac{\partial u}{\partial \eta }=h(c)\) is studied in the work. Here \(\Omega \) is a bounded domain with smooth boundary and \(\Delta _{p}\) is the \(p\)-Laplacian (\(1<p<\infty \)). The existence of solutions under a Landesman-Laser type condition is proved using an extension of Mawhin's continuation theorem for nonlinear operators. A celebrated result of Castro for the classical pendulum equation is generalized using the method of upper and low solutions.
