Let \(\Omega\) be a bounded domain in \({\mathbb R}^{n}\), and let \(F^{(s)}_{i}\), \(i=1,2,\ldots,I(s)\) be pairwise disjoint, closed subsets of \(\Omega\). The authors study the asymptotic behavior of the solution to the Dirichlet problem for a degenerate, higher-order, non-linear elliptic equation of the form \[ \sum_{|\alpha|\leq m}(-1)^{|\alpha|}D^{\alpha}a_{\alpha}(x,u,D^{1}u,\ldots,D^{m}u)=0\quad\text{in} \quad\Omega^{(s)}, \] \[ D^{\alpha}u(x)=D^{\alpha}f(x)\quad\text{on} \quad\partial\Omega^{(s)}\quad\text{for}\quad |\alpha|\leq m-1, \] where \(\Omega^{(s)}\), \(s=1,2,\ldots\), are perforated domains defined as \[ \Omega^{(s)}=\Omega\setminus\bigcup^{I(s)}_{i=1}F^{(s)}_{i}. \] Under suitable conditions, the authors prove that the solution \(u_{s}\) of the above problem strongly converges in a Sobolev space as \(s\to\infty\) to the solution of the Dirichlet problem for a certain elliptic equation on \(\Omega\).
